There’s so much that’s happened in the world since September. And to be honest, I don’t want to go through it. I use Bluesky a lot more now, and most of my political/current events ranting or feelings can be found there.

But I do owe you an update and here it is: I DID GET THE PROMOTION!

Never be afraid to go for what you deserve.

Otherwise, I’m working on a final draft of my YA fantasy and then I’ll begin querying it, probably next spring. And I’m outlining a fantasy heist because why the hell not?

I do miss my fanfic, too. I miss the weekly posting on AO3 and the responsiveness of the community. Comments and kudos and people loving what I do is such a motivator for me, and it helps with my confidence too. But there’s nothing I want to write more than I want to work on my original stuff right now. That may change someday, especially when I someday decided to finish my FIAG series. There will always be fic in my soul, so it’ll find its way out eventually.

And I will not let any current events keep me from creating. I may need to pause to focus on other things. I may struggle for motivation. But I cannot, will not stop creating.

Sometimes the only thing we can do is put good into the world. And the darkest, most difficult times is when we need that good the most. Even if no one knows or sees.

Create for yourself. Make art for yourself. Make it in defiance. Make it in rage if you have to.

Nobody has stopped me yet and nobody is going to start now.

And when you can, shore up yourself and others. Create networks, support other creators, build up everyone you can. Give time or money or exposure if that’s the best you’ve got to give. Everything helps. Everything.

And come hang out with me on Bluesky. It’s good to stay informed and it’s good to just look at pictures of cats sometimes. You’ll find me theredoing a little bit of everything.
