Life in progress

Moving is taking up most of my mental energy, and what I have leftover is going to CONvergence. So in lieu of a proper post, have some pictures of the moving and move-in process…

The new home! The bright lights don’t make it obvious that the walls are at this point a slightly lighter shade of brown than Amazon boxes. This will be remedied very shortly. Thank goodness we have amazing friends who can help us build new furniture!

Painting! The color is called “Choice Cream.” I know it isn’t very exciting, but you’ve seen our artwork. The artwork will bring PLENTY of color to the space.

Our very cool new bed, also protected from paint!

The bathroom was previously a painful color of white. Now it will be “Blue Horizon.” Can I get in on this color-naming gig? It sounds fun.

The painters pulled the fridge away from the wall to get behind it. It’s one of those places you just don’t see all that often…and I kind of wish I hadn’t, honestly.

See, the Choice Cream is nice!

This is from the previous condo, the detritus left behind when most everything around the old TV stand had been packed up. The giant Totoro that was given to Sarah (Marina made it!) laying on there is, as they say, “such a mood.” I took this at the end of a very long day 1 of moving and, honestly, I’d have dramatically flopped too if there had been any furniture on which to do so.

But now we’re in, and I’m unpacking as fast as I can. As much as I hate packing and moving, I hate BEING PACKED even more. I want my books back! I want my art! I want to be able to find all my cuddly things!

It’s a process. We’re progressing.

Also, incidentally, anybody want to buy a condo in Minneapolis?
