Checking in

Today is our 21st anniversary, and Sarah and I as usual are spending it not doing anything in particular. The number of times in 21 years we have actually done anything more elaborate than order pizza for dinner on our anniversary is probably no more than 5. We’re kind of boring like that.

In general, however, we’re not totally idle. We have actually been considering moving. We love where we live, but there are a few things we would really like to be different about the space itself. Mostly, we both miss having a dedicated space for spiritual and creative stuff. So we’re doing a little house-hunting.

I’ve also been acquiring pieces for cosplay for CONvergence. The theme this year is “Everyone’s Invited” which is generic but feels to me like “hey, come as yourself.” The 3 cosplays I’m working towards are:

1.) I’m getting together with a group of friends from Operations to do a “rainbow mafia.” I’m going to have a pinstriped corset, a purple shirt, and a gray fedora to represent the ace flag, with a rainbow on the hat as well. Probably going to look badass if the hat doesn’t look silly (I never think I look very good in hats).

2.) Something steampunk-y. I’ve got a cool set of bloomers and an underbust corset that looks like a waistcoat, so I just need to figure out what goes with it.

3.) Last Halloween I bought a unicorn horn from Etsy, so I figured I could do something really cool around that. It’s coming together as kind of a fantasy world unicorn person. I’m getting a gold corset that looks a little bit like armor so my unicorn can be as badass as the other two.

But I’m not ready to share what I have yet, so instead here’s Tadashi being cute as usual.
